Zenique: I am so glad to see the TV again

Now that the Common, Entrance Examination is over, Zenique Cuffy can return to her mild addiction – playing games on the computer.

That was just one of the activities Cuffy had to give up in order to study for her exam, a sacrifice which was worth it, as the Georgetown Government School student scored 100% in Maths, 91.67% for English and 90% for General Paper. She placed 5th for girls and 11th overall.

Speaking to SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday afternoon, Cuffy admitted that she wasn’t all that surprised when she received her grades, as she knew she would have done well.

“I couldn’t have felt more excited. I predicted that I would have done that well, ‘cuz I’m used to getting these marks in class,” Cuffy said. The daughter of teachers Judy and Manson Cuffy, she also said that her favourite subject is Mathematics.

She added that the preparations for the examination were not difficult, adding that she had to sacrifice time spent viewing television and playing computer games. Cuffy also did lots of past common entrance papers and made up her own study time table which helped her to keep on track.

She thanks her teachers and parents for their encouragement and for assisting her through her primary school education. She hopes to continue her education at the Girls’ High School.

In the meantime, she has plans to attend a church camp in Barbados and resume her computer games and television.

“I’m glad to see the TV’s face once again,” she joked.
