He said he was looking forward to meeting with Cameron when he attends the European Union Latin America and Caribbean Summit in Madrid, Spain, during this week.

Gonsalves said he was also expecting to meet persons associated with the new administration when he returned to London.

Cameron was appointed Britain’s new Prime Minister following the last general elections.

The 43-year-old became the youngest British leader in over 200 years.

Cameron’s Conservative Party had won the most seats in the Thursday, May 6, 2010, general elections, but not an overall majority.

After reaching an agreement to form a coalition with the Liberal Democrats leader Nick Clegg, a new British government was formed.

Cameron’s appointment came on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, following a meeting with Queen Elizabeth II.(HN)
