Wood was reacting to a comment made on a local radio talk show on Monday, May 10 which accused the CDC of failing to provide the public with a comprehensive financial report.
âContrary to what you will hear people say, statements are there.â he continued, saying that copies of the financial reports have been forwarded to the Ministries of Finance and Culture and then presented to Cabinet.
âThe organization is one that is reputable and for those who would have made contributions, those people want to know that their money is properly accounted for,â Wood told SEARCHLIGHT.
The CDC executive presented copies of financial reports dating back to 2005 that were currently in the possession of the Ministry of Finance and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Culture.
He acknowledged the practice by some companies who publish in the newspapers a summary of the financial report.
âI am not too au fait on the procedures for a summary, but if PS says it needs to be done, we will do that,â Wood said. (DD)
