SVG Gospel Fest 2010 kicks off Easter Sunday

EVERYTHING is in place for the grand opening of SVG Gospel Fest 2010. The festival, which is into its eight year, will be officially opened this Easter Sunday April 4 from 6.00 pm at the Victoria Park with a varied programme of gospel singing and dancing.{{more}}

The programme dubbed: “Declare God’s Praise” will feature an evening of Praise featuring top local gospel artistes such as Diadem dancers, Kara, Voices of Victory, Christopher George, Alayna Dublin, Blessing You, SBGC Voices and Jewel Cordice.

Addresses will come from church officials and the SVG Gospel Fest committee with Minister of Culture Rene Baptiste officially declaring the festival open.

Top international gospel artistes Vincentian born Dr. Anita Charles and Wendy Mitchell of the USA are also scheduled to perform.

SVG Gospel Fest is a month long festival of zonal and national gospel showcases across St. Vincent and the Grenadines with performances in music, song, dance, drama, sermonette and worship ministry. With close to 400 entries from almost 100 churches, 2010 is expected to see continued growth as local gospel artistes use the opportunity to showcase their diverse talents.

SVG Gospel Fest 2010 is being held under the theme: “Declare God’s Praises in the Islands”.
