Gonsalves: ULP coming well prepared

For those who may have been anticipating an announcement of the date for the next general elections may have to wait a while longer.{{more}}

But political leader of the Unity Labour Party (ULP) and Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves said that his party would be coming fully prepared.

“In the referendum I tied my hands behind my back. I said no politics, but this time around there is no holding back,” Dr Gonsalves said at last Sunday’s 9th anniversary celebration of his political party at Rabacca.

“From now and until the Almighty God inspires me to the date of the next general election, only two know – our Lord and Saviour in Heaven and Comrade Ralph on earth.”

“You better believe that, Arnhim,” Dr Gonsalves stated.

He commented on the New Democratic Party’s meeting held a few weeks ago dubbed a pre-launch, saying that it came and went as nothing.

“He can’t run a two by two store. Is a country he could run?”

“I have an obligation to make sure a new generation of leaders arises to continue the work of the Labour Party,” Dr Gonsalves said, noting that political leaders in the past had failed to bring on board young talent.

“I am not going to make that mistake,” he said.
