Leonard Deane, Director of the Energy Unit, in a letter to Searchlight, said contrary to what was stated on page 24 of last week’s edition of Searchlight, “Representatives of St. Vincent Electricity Services Ltd (VINLEC) were invited to attend, among other stakeholders, but VINLEC did not collaborate with the Energy Unit to host the event nor did VINLEC initiate this study.”

The information that VINLEC had collaborated with the Energy Unit in the hosting of the workshop had come from the Government’s Agency for Public Information (API).

Deane’s letter also said: “The Chairman of the National Energy Committee gave the key note address and Minister of Telecommunications made remarks at the opening.”
