ECCB, ECIB host Savings and investment course

The 6th Savings and Investment Course commenced on Friday, March 5, 2010, at the University of the West Indies Open Campus.{{more}}

It is being presented by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Banking and Financial Services (ECIB and FS) and the University of the West Indies. To date, over 289 persons from this country have graduated from the course joining some 1,720 persons from across the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union.

One of the aims of the course is to give participants the necessary information and confidence to approaching their finances and to provide guidance as it relates to entering financial negotiations and investment agreements.

“The last two years have brought unprecedented changes to the financial world and SVG is part of the world,” Cheryl Rodriguez, local coordinator of the ECIB and FS said.

“By attending this course you have the opportunity to create a positive perception of the benefits of saving and investing,” she continued.

“Saving and investing are the foundations of a secure financial future.

“You are the architect of your financial future,” said Elritha Dick, President of the ECIB and FS.

“To ensure that you have choices and money now and in the future it is important that you start building a nest egg for yourself and your family,” she continued.

Forty-five participants have registered for the ten week course which is expected to end on May 14th.
