President of the band Fernando Serieux said that the group has grown from strength to strength over its short existence. He added that the award received from this yearâs Carnival was a great achievement for the band.
Feature speaker, Minister of Culture, René Baptiste pledged her continued support to the bandâs development and said that the band has accomplished a lot since its establishment.
Baptiste said she is pleased that persons are now seeing Carnival as more than just a âjigg upâ session, but more as an artistic value that is added to St Vincentâs culture. Baptiste said she is planning to hold a meeting with the Carnival Bands Association to get more persons to inject more creative and new ideas in the construction of the Mas.
The bandâs presentation for next year was also unveiled, titled âDis is Paradiseâ.
Some members of the band were awarded for their contribution to the bandâs success. Sponsor SEARCHLIGHT was also presented with a certificate of appreciation for their contribution over the years.(KW)
