‘YES VOTE’ campaign blasts off at Victoria Park

The Government of St.Vincent and the Grenadines will launch its YES VOTE campaign this Sunday, October 11, 2009, with a national rally at Victoria Park.{{more}}

The rally will begin at 4.30pm with some entertainment, to be followed by several addresses from high level officials.

Among those slated to speak are the Minister of Culture René Baptiste, the Foreign Minister Sir Louis Straker, the Chairman of the CRSC Parnel Campbell, local Information Technology entrepreneur Sehon Marshall, and Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves.

The Rally will also feature entertainment in song from IPA, Danielle, and Jamesy P. The feature event DJ is Donovan.

Sunday’s rally will spark off a series of events in the country as the government moves its YES VOTE campaign into high gear.

These will include a series of public meetings in various parts of the country, radio and television programmes, newspaper articles, village consultations and rallies on weekends.

Next Monday, the government will officially open the headquarters of the YES VOTE campaign, located at the former JU-C building in Kingstown.

The YES VOTE campaign is being spearheaded by a Cabinet Committee under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves. Its core purpose is to engage in positive activities aimed at securing a YES Vote, when the country votes on the 2009 Constitution on November 25, 2009.
