This week, two motor scrapers, purchased from Politiri Holdings Ltd of Canada, were added to the growing inventory of equipment in use at the site.
The machines join two other scrapers, used to remove topsoil from the second kilometre of the runway and from the area where the terminal building is expected to be constructed.
Two of 12 trucks, which were expected to arrive with the scrapers, were delayed and should arrive from the United Kingdom at a later date.
With 21 per cent of the earthworks completed, the airport project is said to be on schedule for completion in 2012. (JJ)
