Argyle Cemetery moved to Peruvian Vale site
Human remains at the Argyle Cemetery have been relocated to a new grave site at Peruvian Vale.{{more}}
This exercise was done to facilitate the construction of a section of the Argyle International Airport.
Jennifer Richardson-Herbert, Communications Specialist at the International Airport Development Company (IADC), told SEARCHLIGHT the process took three weeks and was completed on Friday, September 18th, 2009.
Richardson-Herbert disclosed that the unearthing of the graves and the reburial were supervised by the Ministry of Health and Environment, while the actual work was conducted by EverReady Funeral Home.
Sixty-seven corpses were buried at Peruvian Vale, while two were buried at Stubbs at the request of the next of kin. (HN)
