Three Taiwanese volunteers arrive
Three new Taiwanese volunteers have arrived in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
On September 16, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sir Louis Straker met with the new volunteers, who were accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Leo LEE.{{more}} The new volunteers are Ms. Hsiao-Ning HUANG, Ms. Tzu-Yi HUANG and Ms. Mei-Ho LIN.
Sir Louis warmly welcomed them and wished them success as they perform their service in SVG and enjoy the beautiful country at the same time.
The volunteers also met with Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne. On September 18, Sir Frederick received them and encouraged them to appreciate SVGâs culture and beauty.
The volunteers said they are looking forward to working with the Vincentian people and enjoying the time they have here.
Ambassador Lee stated that Taiwan annually dispatches volunteers to SVG in order to strengthen the interaction of the youth between the two countries.
There are presently six Taiwanese volunteers in SVG. The six volunteers are assigned to the Ministry of Health (3), the Ministry of Tourism (1), the Ministry of Agriculture (1) and the Ministry of Telecommunications (1).
