Delia McDowall, General Manager of the Lauders Agro Processors Inc said several customers at Food City got the opportunity last Friday to sample some of its food products with the new pepper sauce which has been bottled in 155 ml bottles.
McDowall said customers can get frozen dasheen, callaloo, a wide range of fruits pulps, mangoes, pawpaw, sour sop, oranges, grapefruits, and golden apples produced by the Lauders Agro Processors Inc at local supermarkets.
âAll these products are convenience foods. With the dasheen you donât have to peel it. What you see is what you get,â said McDowall, noting the products are packaged in one pound bags.
McDowall added the dasheen and calaloo can be placed in hot water and they are cooked in a short period of time.
Plans are in the pipeline to redesign the packages, export to the United States and produce ginger beer syrup.
The company is also planning to export to Barbados, Trinidad and across the Lesser Antilles.
The Lauders Agro Processors Inc was established in April 2007 as a part of the national Agricultural diversification thrust, put forward as one of the answers to the many problems that confront the sector. (HN)
