Sol Group acquires Shell aviation business in SVG

The Sol Group on Monday announced the signing of an agreement with Shell to acquire its aviation business in St. Vincent.{{more}}

The Sale and Purchase Agreement covers all aspects of Shell’s aviation fuels business including the distribution facilities and into-plane equipment a release from Sol said. Sol intends to enter into a Fuel Supply Agreement and Technical Services Agreement with Shell to ensure a reliable supply of aviation fuels and to maintain the highest standards of quality control and sound aviation operation procedures at the acquired facilities.

The Sol Group is a leading petroleum company supplying fuels, lubricants and LPG through its extensive network of service stations, commercial and marine outlets in the Caribbean.

Since its inception in 2005, Sol has been an active participant in the aviation business by providing various support services to Shell, the release said.

“Today marks a very important milestone as the Sol Group solidifies its presence in the Aviation business. The coupling of this business with Sol’s existing infrastructure will afford additional efficiencies to the Group and its customers alike”, remarked Sir Kyffin Simpson, Chairman of Sol.
