This disclosure was made by Product Development Officer of the NLA Anthony Dennie at the handing over of prize monies to winners of the authorityâs Carnival Promotion.
âLast year we had gotten over the $40 million mark as far as our sales are concerned, and this year I can say that we are over that mark. I can surely say that we are going to pass the $48 million mark.â
Dennie credited the increase in sales to the popularity of the NLAâs games (Lotto, Super Six, 3-D and scratch cards), and thanked the players of these games for continuing to support them.
He said that the support for these games goes a long way in assisting the development of sports and culture in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
This year, the NLA contributed for the first time over one million dollars to the just concluded carnival celebrations.
Dennie said that more than sixty per cent of this was in the form of cash, with $350,000 going towards the improvement of the ramps leading to and from the stage at Victoria Park.
âIn addition to that, we assisted the Carnival Development Corporation with its Carnival Monday band: âA Lotta Fun In The Sunâ…. We were quite pleased with the support that we received, as (it) was sold out.â
Dennie indicated that the NLA will remain committed to the support and development of Vincy Mas, and urged persons to continue playing their favorite lotto games.(JJ)
