Young barber threading new path at Unisex Salon

Vincentian barber Mr. P has brought the art of brow threading to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and he is inviting everyone to try it.{{more}} Delon “Mr.P” Gibson, owner of Mr. P Unisex Salon, has received training in the threading technique to remove unwanted facial hair.

Threading, which is popular in North America and Asia uses two intertwined threads that are rolled over the surface of the skin pulling out hairs at the root.

The procedure, Gibson says, is a bit painful, but goes away after some time. It can also be used instead of waxing, in cases where the wax may cause skin irritation.

Gibson was trained in October 2008 at the Hair 4 Mankind hair studio in Ontario, Canada. He also entered a Battle of the Barbers competition in Ontario, and was awarded a certificate for being the fastest barber.

Gibson, who has over 21 years of experience as a barber, invites persons to visit his salon to engage in what he describes as a “new experience”. Gibson added that he hopes to continue to improve his skills through training so that he can better serve the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Mr. P Unisex Salon is located at Frenches Gate and offers brow threading, ear piercing, haircuts and facials, among other services.
