LIME, one of this countryâs leading telecommunications providers, hosted a Mentorship programme from 26th to 29th May, 2009, at its conference room at Arnos Vale.{{more}} The programme was held in partnership with the Ministry of Education and several parents and guardians of LIME scholarship holders also attended a special session on being good mentors.
âLIME continues to add real value to communities in many diverse ways from the environment, culture, sport and in disaster relief. The Ministry of Education was invited to participate in this program by submitting the names of teachers, preferably those involved in the counseling and or mentoring of students in the various schools in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and their response was tremendous since they recognize the value of this program. The youths are the future leaders of tomorrow, and LIMEâs thrust this year and many years to come are to enhance and bring value to the lives of the entire nationâs youth.â said Sandra Matthews, LIME VP Human Resources.
The programme was facilitated by Dr. Reverend Courtney Richards of Jamaica. Reverend Richards is currently a Senior Lecturer in Psychology, Counseling and Spiritual Formation and former Head of the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department at the Jamaica Theological Seminary in Kingston Jamaica.
Sixty-two teachers and officials from the Ministry of Education were among a total of 67 participants in the workshop.
