Digicel rewards a Storm and Pearl
Akeino Gurley had wanted a Blackberry Storm since it hit the market here. âI used to go to the store and look at it every chance I got,â he told Digicelâs Marketing Manager Juno DeRoche.{{more}}
Now, thanks to Digicel, Gurley, who is a waiter at the Vee Jays Restaurant, is the proud owner of the Storm, and the catch is, he got it just from texting. Gurley, who hails from Richland Park, and Natasha Thomas, of Cane End, both won themselves Blackberry handsets as part of Digicelâs text WIN to 7171 promotion. Gurley collected his Storm and Thomas her Blackberry Pearl (Flip) last Friday at Digicelâs Corporate Offices in the Sprottâs Brothers Building on Bay Street.
Gurley, who is from Richland Park, commented while collecting his Storm: âMy mind was telling me that I would win it and I feel real happy because I really wanted this phone, and I am very elated.â He said that he has been using Digicelâs services for about three years.
Meanwhile, Thomas said that she is glad to upgrade her handset from the Motorola L61 to the Blackberry Pearl.
âThis is great! Awesome! I wanted a more advanced phone, and this is a smart phone and is something like a mini computer,â said Thomas, who added: âDigicel will always be my number oneâ.
