Junior Achievers making strides
The Junior Achievement St Vincent and the Grenadines Incorporated is now on the list as a member in Good standing for Junior Achievement Worldwide.{{more}}
The announcement was made on March 25, 2009, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in the United States of America, after meeting the requirements of JA Worldwide.
This means that the Junior Achievement programme in this country is now accredited as a business and substantial education franchise for business and financial education. It also means that they are allowed to access foreign grants and Vincentians will who enter the programme will be eligible for scholarships worldwide.
Chairman of Junior Achievement St Vincent, Geoffrey Hadaway, described the announcement as a milestone achievement as they have only been incorporated since December 17, 2008. The only other English speaking nations that made the list included, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, US Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands.
Hadaway also expressed gratitude to all the Board Members, Staff, Achievers, and Supporters. The board of directors includes: Geoffrey Hadaway, Chairman, Christine Da Silva, Deputy Chairman, Elritha Dick, Assistant Secretary/ Treasurer, Hawkins Nanton, P.R.O, Andrea Bowman, Secondary Principalsâ Association, Earl Tash, Rotary Club of St. Vincent, Maxine Johnney, SVG Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Gibron London, Chief Executive Officer, Grahame Bollers, Secretary, and Carlton Hall, Ministry of Education.
