New group to promote ICT programmes in SVG

The National Information and Communications Technology Association of Beneficiaries (NICTAB) Kingstown Chapter has been officially launched.{{more}}

During elections held on Tuesday, 3rd March, 2009, an interim executive of five persons headed by Sylvia E. Williams as President was elected.

The main purpose of the newly formed association is to help promote ICT programmes for Vincentians. Networking with other regional and international ICT groupings is also on the agenda, and to provide advocacy to the ICT sector locally and otherwise. The body is intent on fostering relationships with other ICT initiatives such as the National ICT Training Project, SFA 2005 ICT Development Programme, and the National ICT Advisory Forum.

The Kingstown Chapter is also aiding the formation of other Chapters around the country to include Union Island, Bequia, Mesopotamia, North Leeward and North Windward. Other executive members include: Sean Brewster – Vice President; Reanita Dickson- Secretary; Luann Hadaway – Treasurer; Andrew Arrindel – P.R.O.
