John received EC$1,000 as part of Digicel’s Live Free Campaign, while Yorke was rewarded with two Nano Ipods, a Samsung F480 handset and US$100 credit as a result of the Text to Win campaign.

Both men collected their winnings last week Friday December 12 at Digicel’s Corporate Offices in the Sprotts Building on Bay Street.

John, who hails from Calder Ridge, managed to accumulate four scratch cards with the letters F-R-E-E on them and as a result became an instant winner of the EC$1,000.

“This is a good venture, and I feel good,” commented the almost expressionless John, who said that he remembers buying two cards with two of the letters, one at The Cell in Kingstown and the other at Howard’s Driving School. He is a supervisor at the Eastern Caribbean Group of Companies (ECGC).

Yorke, who is a Security Guard from Orange Hill, said that he is going to give one of the Ipods to his sister and keep the other one for himself, while he will also be passing over his used phone to his sister and keeping the Samsung F480. He won by texting WIN to 7171.

“I feel good because it is the first time I ever won anything,” said Yorke, who has been using Digicel’s service since the company’s inception in 2003. Yorke also thanked Marketing Manager Juno DeRoche who handed over the prizes in the company’s conference room.
