After waiting for close to four hours, members of the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) destroyed 5,308 pounds of cannabis and 8.3 pounds of Cocaine at Rabacca last Thursday, December 6.{{more}}

Commissioner of Police Keith Miller who was on hand to see the drugs destroyed said every effort is being made to rid our country of the illegal substances. Although admitting that they destroyed a larger quantity of drugs last December, he stated that they have put certain measures in place and so far they have been working.

The drugs that were destroyed were seized by various stations and units in the police force. The drugs destroyed have an approximate street value of close to EC$2 million.
