G-G hosts Christmas party for persons with disabilities

A Christmas party for persons with disabilities was held last Saturday, December 6, under the patronage of Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne. This event took place at Government House, and the approximately 70 children, parents, teachers, and the representative of United States Peace Corps in attendance were in high spirits.{{more}}

Ambassador Leo Lee was invited to join Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne and Patricia Cumberbatch, the Chairperson of National Society of Persons with Disabilities to present gifts, toys and sponsorships on this occasion. Ambassador Lee also had the opportunity to reiterate his commitment to the promotion of charitable activities and to advancing the rights and benefits of the disabled in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. According to to a release from the Taiwanese Embassy, Ambassador Lee enjoyed the time with children and wished all of them very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The National Anthem and musical renditions were performed by an instrumental group from the St. Benedict’s Hospital, which is led by Sister Nyra-ann.
