The song contest will feature ten local bards who will compete for a cash prize of $1,000. The second and third places earn $500 and $300 respectively.

The competitors will be backed by the band Access.

The song contest will be the feature attraction on Saturday, December 13, when the lights will be officially turned on. There will also be a fireworks display as the pioneers in community lighting celebrate their tenth year.

The committee also endeavours to make this year’s lighted display extra special in view of the milestone.

This year’s theme is: “Fun, Talent and Creativity, celebrating ten years of lighting the Sion Hill Community.”
