Students of the nation and the general public will have the opportunity to access information on a range of career choices when the Ministry of Education stages the 2008 National Career Fair next week. The three-day event takes place from Wednesday 10th to Friday 12th December at the Peace Memorial Hall and the C.W. Prescod Primary School in Kingstown.{{more}}

The National Career Fair represents the Ministry of Education’s response to the need for increased access to and dissemination of pertinent career information to our young adults in their various fields of endeavour. The Ministry sees this as a convenient and efficient way for various organizations to meet large numbers of prospective students and potential employees.

The purpose of the National Career Fair is to give local, regional and international organizations the opportunity to meet with interested students, potential employees and members of the general public to share materials, information and expertise. The Career Fair has as its major goals: (1) the sensitization of persons about local, regional and international career options and (2) the promotion of preparation and sensitization for the full implementation of the CSME.

The Career Fair is being staged under the theme: Finding your niche. It will run from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. An official opening ceremony will take place at the Peace Memorial Hall on Wednesday 10th December beginning at 9:00 a.m.
