The Ocean Life restaurant, which allows customers to purchase food without leaving their vehicles, was opened on Friday, November 28, 2008, with several invited guests and members of the media in attendance.

The restaurant opened with customers placing their orders by using a microphone before picking up the food at a window.

Ocean Life is owned by Raphael Quashie, of Bequia. He stated that the opening of the restaurant is the realization of one of his dreams.

The drive-through restaurant will provide a breakfast, seafood, fried chicken, lunch, wings, sides, deserts, burgers, and hot and cold beverage service. Persons attending the ceremony were told that the restaurant will also be catering for customers who wish to walk through.

“We are actually catering pretty much for everybody; the locals and the tourists. The business has good prospects and I see it taking off in the future,” said Quashie, adding that its operations will be flexible, going as long as the crowd stays.

Quashie, who has over 20 years in the catering business, said he has no limit when it comes to catering. He said he has lots of plans in the pipeline and he hopes to use them to help the company grow into a large establishment.

Ocean Life also has a branch in New Orleans, which specializes in recruiting persons to work at sea and in the oil industry across the United States. (HN)
