Birthday phone brings in $1000 for winner

The Digicel handset 75-year-old Felton ‘Tolan’ Quashie received for his birthday has earned him EC$1000 compliments Digicel.{{more}}

Quashie, a resident of Byera Hill, who turned 75 on June 6th this year, is one of last week’s winners in the new Digicel rewards promotion which began on November 1st.

The excited retired farmer said that the phone was given to him by his grandson. When asked what he is going to do with his winnings, the elderly man, who said that he feels good to have won, replied: “I’m going to give half the money to my grandson and the rest will be used for other things, including top up cards.”

The elderly man, who says that he never won anything in his life before, explained that he uses his phone to call his sister in Trinidad. “The service is always good in Byera; I wish Digicel all the best and I will like to encourage people to use Digicel phones”.

Quashie collected his winnings last week Wednesday from Digicel’s Marketing Executive Edmund Joachim.
