Addressing the congregation, General Manager Bernard Marksman underscored the fact that the company’s success, in its short existence, is built on its relationship with their clients as well as their prompt response to problems. Marksman also stated that the company has expanded tremendously over the past four years with the increased demand for Security Services, which has given rise to the formation of many new security companies.

Following the church service, the celebrations continued at the Methodist Church Hall, where a breakfast and award ceremony were the order of the day.

Fitzroy Hamlet was named the cash in transit officer of the year. Eugene Gordon and Faustina Stapleton were promoted to the position of Senior Guard. The longest serving member of staff award went to Annetta Antoine, while honourable mention went to Godwin Williams, Andre Soleyn and Chearman Augustus. Trophies and other gift tokens were given to other members of staff.

The security firm has been around for some thirty years, having been established in Jamaica, with branches in St Lucia and Barbados. At present, Guardsman SVG Limited has a staff of 116, distributed among Administration, Operations, Cash-In-Transit, Alarms and Monitoring and Static Guarding. (KW)
