Dellimore, speaking to SEARCHLIGHT earlier this week, confirmed that her preparation for the pageant has already begun. She also related that her training is simply a continuation of what she underwent for the Miss SVG and Miss Carival competitions. Dellimore declared that she is highly anticipating participating in Miss Universe 2009. “I’m feeling very confident!” she expressed.

In the meanwhile, Dellimore will be assuming the roles bequeathed to her as winner of Miss SVG and Miss Carival. She will be a Goodwill Ambassador, assist with promotion of cultural activities within the Ministry of Culture, undertake marketing duties and work with two charities, one of which is Our Lady of Guadalupe Home for Girls.

First runner up in the Miss SVG pageant, Nekesha Adams, will take up duties as a Cultural Hostess, and will work with the Pan Against Crime programme. In the event that Dellimore is unable to participate in Miss Universe 2009, Adams will take her place.

Second runner up Jolene Toney will assist with the marketing of cultural programmes within the Ministry of Culture.(JSV)
