NDC offers auditions to Dance Festival finalists

Following their impressive performances at the recently concluded National Dance Festival, twelve finalists have been invited to audition to join the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) National Dance Company.{{more}}

Minister of Culture René Baptiste announced their names at a press conference held at the Cruise Ship Terminal on Tuesday, October 7, 2008. Baptiste also urged the twelve to contact the Ministry to obtain the specific date of their audition.

The talented dancers include: Arisha Pompey, Godwin Charles, Jamilla Pope, Norlan Jackson, Akeisha Simmons, Shayne Wynn, Rickeisha Marshall, Rosnell Snagg, Lenelle Snagg, LeNea Richardson, Shonet Edwards, Crystal Kennedy and Phillip Dember.

Minister Baptiste revealed that several other persons will be asked to audition for twelve additional places in either November or January 2009. Baptiste further explained that the NCF National Dance Company will cater to three main styles of dance – Classical Ballet, Creative Folk and Modern & Contemporary. (JSV)
