Members of the National Commercial Bank’s (NCB) Social Activities Club and the Number 21 Ranger Company came together with the JEMS Progressive Organization as part of the latter’s annual beach clean up campaign.

The rain that was bucketing down did not prevent or slow down the enthusiastic 30-strong group which had fun removing bags of garbage from the popular picnic spot, leaving it looking the way one would wish all the beaches would look all the time.

President of NCB’s Social Activities Club Randy Lawrence told SEARCHLIGHT that the club was happy to be part of the beach cleaning project.

He said that the club had undergone some reorganizing and the beach clean up effort was the first activity for the club since its re-organization.

He said that that he looks forward to the club becoming more active in similar projects and emphasised that the goal is to foster a closer relationship between the membership as they undertake projects together. (KJ)
