Enthused by the support of his companyâs customers, an elated Angus Steel, Chief Executive of Cable & Wireless, said the two products are exciting and he was confident that the customers would enjoy them.
âPrepaid BlackBerry has recognised that many people out there are not BlackBerry users but are simply users of a phone. As a matter of fact very recently we have seen that persons who were once interested in the little Nokia phones are now asking for the BlackBerry, the phone of their choice. We see smart phones becoming the phone of the day,â said Steele. He predicted that soon there will be an ultimate shift where customers will be moving towards high end phones that will provide a better quality in service.
Fitz Huggins, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, was also excited about the launch of the new services.
âToday is a very special day for our customers. Special because we have two very exciting products which we are introducing, having listened to our customers over the past few months,â said Huggins, adding Cable & Wireless is always trying to keep ahead of the competition. He emphasized that he was confident the customers would âreally enjoy these two new featuresâ.
âThe thing about competition is that both providers or all providers would want to know that they are first in the market to get the customers excited,â said Huggins, noting that customers are always interested in joining the market which provides greater offerings.
Delivering a Power Point presentation to the customers who celebrated the event with wine and cheese, Natasha Medford, Cable & Wirelessâ Accounting Secretary, gave customers a firsthand description of the Blackberry; why they should have a Blackberry; and things the Blackberry can do.
A Blackberry is described as a wireless mobile solution that keeps mobile customers connected to people and information while on the go.
Medford encouraged customers to get a Blackberry because it allows them to maximise their mobility time. She said it has Internet connection and affords customers the opportunity to have a secure wireless application for e-mails whether they are corporate or personal.
Dexter Walker, Mobile Operations Officer at Cable & Wireless, pointed out that acquiring the service is as simple as visiting the bMobile Retail Store or one of the account executives to sign up for the service. âI cannot leave home without my BlackBerry. If I am on my way down and I forget my Blackberry at home I go back,â said Walker, as he explained the importance of his Blackberry.
