The event, which has been organized by the Menâs Christian Fellowship of Sands Seventh-Day Adventist Church, following discussions with the Counsellor, Carolin de Freitas-Sawh at the High Commission for St Vincent and the Grenadines, London, will feature, among other acts, the internationally acclaimed Croydon SDA Gospel Choir. The Choir has previously appeared on BBCâs EastEnders, Songs of Praise, Choir of the Year and Paradise Heights.
Joel Williams, one of the organizers of the event, said âwe are very excited that Croydon SDA Gospel Choir has agreed to perform at the concertâ.
The High Commissioner, Cenio E. Lewis, added: âWe are pleased that nationals and others in the UK have made this fund raising project the success that it has been over the past few years. We appreciate the enormous efforts which have been made by individuals to ensure that we can continue to help needy school children in St Vincent and the Grenadines…We are sure that this concert will be a success, and we hope it can become an annual fixture in our eventâs calendarâ
Last Month, Jimmy DaSantos, a Vincentian, organized a dance in Wellingbourgh, UK, to raise funds for the same appeal. The High Commissioner and Counsellor represented the Mission at the dance, which was attended and enjoyed by the nationals and friends of St Vincent and the Grenadines. Jimmy said: âWe are doing this for the children…and are grateful to Mr Straton âSupersonicâ Mercury for providing the musicâ.
Next monthâs Gospel Concert will take place at St Andrewâs Church, Hatters Lane, High Wycombe, Bucks, HP13 7NJ, at 20:00hrs, entrance fee £5.
