Award named after Findlay

The Awards Selection Committee of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) has named one of its awards after Vincentian Sports Hero Michael Findlay.{{more}}
According to the CTO, the Michael Findlay Sports Award âwill be awarded to a contemporary Caribbean American Nominee who embodies the spirit of sportsmanship demonstrated by the renowned former West Indies test cricketer, Michael Findlay, of St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and truly represents the Caribbeanâs competitiveness.â This award is among 3 awards which will be presented at the Gala Awards Dinner and Ball in conjunction with the Annual Caribbean Tourism Summit, scheduled to be held in Washington DC, June 21st-24th, 2008. The Gala will be held at the International Trade Center and Ronald Reagan Building on Monday, June 23rd, 2008.
The other two awards which will be presented are the Jim Bodden Public Service Award and the Chester York Entertainment Award. Nominations are being received and the deadline for their submissions is Friday, May 30th, 2008. They may be submitted electronically to CTOny@caribtourism.com.
