Forum on Environment for St. George’s University
From June 23rd to 27th, the Fourth Caribbean Environmental Forum and Exhibition (CEF-4), in collaboration with the Fourteenth Annual Wider Caribbean Waste Management Conference (ReCaribe 2008) and the First Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum (1st CSEF), under the theme âClimate Change, Water and Sanitation: A Shared Responsibilityâ, will be held at the St. Georgeâs University in Grenada.{{more}}
The event, which is being organized by the Caribbean Environmental Health Institute (CEHI) in collaboration with the Caribbean Renewable Energy Development Programme – German government funded component (CREDP/GTZ), Clean Islands International, the National Solid Waste Management Authority – Grenada, the GEF funded Integrating Watershed and Coastal Areas Management in the Caribbean Project (GEF-IWCAM), the Austrian Development Agency and the St. Georgeâs University, aims to, among other things, raise public awareness across the Caribbean on pressing energy, environmental, water and sanitation issues.
The forum is expected to be attended by a wide range of persons from the public and private sectors across the region and internationally and will be addressed by regional policy makers, including Grenadaâs Prime Minister Honourable Dr. Keith Mitchel and regional and international experts of high repute.
Several panel discussions are scheduled as part of the activities which aim to promote interaction among stakeholders, with a view to identifying solutions suitable for Caribbean conditions and encouraging a coordinated approach to the challenges we face.
