Wreath laying ceremony tomorrow
The usual National Heroes Day Wreath laying ceremony will take place tomorrow, March 14th, at 8 a.m, at the obelisk at Dorsetshire Hill.{{more}}
In a press conference held recently, Minister of Culture Rene Baptiste said that efforts will be taken to ensure that the children and other persons attending the Wreath Laying ceremony will not be kept there unnecessarily long, as all presentations, except the feature address will be kept under three minutes.
Among the highlights of this yearâs activities will be a tribute to former Chief Minister Ebenezer Theodore Joshua, which will be held at his Kingstown cemetery burial site. Joshua died on March 14, 1991.
There will also be a lectures for teachers on the 19th, along with a Bi-centenary lecture on the Abolition of the Slave trade by the Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves on March 26th. The annual Balliceaux Remembrance Pilgrimage will be held on March 29th.
