Leacock says Morgan is a ‘Johnny come lately’

“My time, my effort, and my commitment must be worth something.”

Those are the words of a man looking two or three years down the road, with an election victory on his mind; his name is St Clair Leacock.{{more}}

The New Democratic Party held a rally at Hollywood, Redemption Sharpes, last Saturday, February 23, and Leacock pleaded his case to the constituents of Central Kingstown.

“I have been serving you faithfully and well,” said Leacock.

He told the appreciative crowd gathered that despite his narrow defeat at the polls in 2005, he remains committed to the constituency.

Saying that his heart bleeds for Central Kingstown, Leacock questioned what is, in his opinion, the inactivity of parliamentary representative Conrad Sayers in the constituency and the government on a whole.

He said that Central Kingstown was being disrespected because their parliamentary representative has not been significantly utilized in the execution of Government business.

“…you don’t see, hear or remember Conrad Sayers. They park him aside. They condemned him as not being worthy of anything,” Leacock said.

Leacock also took aim at Cabinet Secretary Bernard Morgan, who has been rumoured to be considering an election bid in Central Kingstown in the next general elections.

Leacock challenged Morgan’s history in service of people, suggesting that he is a ‘Johnny come lately’ in this regard.
