Landell Mills to host Agricultural workshop

Participants at a workshop to be held here next week will discuss, among other things, the way forward for the current agricultural diversification thrust.{{more}}

The workshop will take place at the Sunset Shores Hotel on Tuesday, February 26, beginning at 9:00 am.

Next week’s workshop is being organized by the British firm Landell Mills, which has been providing technical assistance to the Agricultural Diversification Implementation Unit (ADPIU) over the past several months.

Stakeholders attending the workshop will be given the opportunity to give their feedback on the findings and recommendations of the various consultancies.

The feature address at the workshop will be delivered by Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Montgomery Daniel.

The issues addressed during the consultancy provided by Landell Mills included the marketing environment for agricultural products, technical capacity of farmers, research and technology development, infrastructure and credit systems, environmental management and land use practices, value addition to local produce, institutional arrangements and improved community linkages.
