Speaking at a one-day consultation between the ministry, various organizations and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Social Investment Fund (SIF), Snagg noted that the Unity Labour Party (ULP) Government was not prepared to pay lip service to the needs of the disadvantaged, but to tackle issues that may arise.
She said that consultations like the one that took place on Monday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conference room, would bring these issues to light and those involved may be able to develop programmes of action to deal with them.
According to Snagg, the establishment of the Social Investment Fund was a deliberate effort at tackling poverty head on, especially among women, children and the elderly.
Snagg expects the recommendations made by the groups will serve as a road map for follow up action by the Ministry and the SIF.
She urged partnership, patience and diligence, if any recommendation is to materialize. (JJ)
