Super Jamz promises to be super local

An all local roster has been announced for the second edition of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC)’s all night fete dubbed “Super Jamz.”

On announcing the line up for tomorrow’s event slated for the Chamber of Commerce Car Park, chairman of the shows’ committee Anthony Dennie indicated that the committee made a conscious decision to feature only home grown entertainers, as compared to last year when Trinidadian band Surface was the feature act.{{more}}

Another incentive for soca lovers to turn out is the reduced price of admission. Patrons complained last year that the $25 ticket was too expensive, so the committee has dropped the price this year to $10.

Although most of the soca songs are yet to be released, Dennie promised a show packed with energy and lots of good music.

Two of the country’s top bands will perform and provide musical accompaniment for the artists this year.

New song winner Zola, along with Skinny Fabulous, Icon, Luta and soca monarch Fireman Hooper, will be accompanied by The Alliance Band, while HS Phaktor will provide music for past soca monarch winner Maddzart, as well as Shaunelle, Skarpyon, Bomani and Aretha.

Tomorrow night’s Super Jamz will also feature another first; a Vincy Soca Showdown between two local DJ’s Hyperactive and Fugitive.

The Super Jamz – all night, all local fete is slated to begin promptly at 8pm.
