HNLMS Urania visits SVG

HNLMS URANIA visited St. Vincent and the Grenadines this week as part of a transatlantic journey called “Atlantic Breeze 2007”. The boat is a 77′ Steel Ketch, naval sail training vessel for the Royal Netherlands College.{{more}}

St. Vincent and the Grenadines was the only country in the Eastern Caribbean visited by the HNLMS Urania during this trip which began on March 20 and will end on 10 August 2007. Port visits include, Curacao, St. Maarten and the Bahamas. The journey will last 144 days and cover a distance of approximately 12000 nautical miles.

Lieutenant-Commander Hugo M. Sinke is the commanding officer on the HNLMS Urania. Eleven (11) persons are on board. The vessel was in St. Vincent from the 30th April 3rd May 2007.
