Jack Cheng pleased with project
Ambassador to the Republic of China on Taiwan Jack Cheng has praised Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves for having the vision to build the Yurumein/Taiwan Bridge.
In an ecstatic voice the Ambassador said, “What a lovely day! What a lovely crowd! I praise and pay tribute to Dr Gonsalves for having the vision for this bridge.”{{more}}
Ambassador Cheng said that on numerous occasions the Prime Minister expressed the need for the bridge and said that the people of this country have been waiting for over 200 years.
He said, “I am pleased to witness the bridge so that the south and north could connect.”
Cheng described the relationship between this country and Taiwan as a marriage that has been going strong for 26 years and promised the airport, more scholarships, computers and medical equipment.
The Taiwanese Ambassador also paid respect to the workers from the company who ensured that the project was complete and also prayed for those in the past who suffered from the plights of the river and welcomed them to join in the celebration.
