Dead is 37 year-old construction worker of Troumaca, Wesley Laborde.

Laborde, who at the time of his death was working in Bequia, was dipping water from a water tank. Police reports state that there seemed to have been an electrical short in the tank.

When the distraught mother visited SEARCHLIGHT offices on Wednesday, she said that Wesley had visited his family on mainland the prior weekend.

Laborde described her son as a jovial person who had a love for the beach and loved listening to music. She also said he was a quiet person and someone always willing and ready to lend a helping hand.

Police are still carrying out investigations into the matter. Also left to mourn is Wesley’s eight-year-old daughter, Weslyn. Laborde’s body will be laid to rest on Sunday at the Rose Bank Cemetery.
