Director of Vocational Services, Errol Allen in an interview with the Searchlight explained that Rotary was pleased with the quick response of the students and parents who allowed their children to attend the all day function.
Allen said that there were some 10 professions in the showcase ranging from Agriculture to Medicine, to Tourism. He however noted that of the some 500 students in attendance, most expressed interest in Accounting and Finance, Information Technology, the Arts and Banking.
The Rotarian said that when people support events put on by the club, they are supporting events such as the Career Guidance Fair which had various costs including the transportation of students from as far as Georgetown and Bequia. He however expressed praise for the students from Bequia for meeting a portion of the ferry trip and said that this was an indication that the students of this country are serious about getting ahead in life.
