Vincy students give Barbour nod for Honorary Consul

Vincentian students at the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies have nominated former radio broadcaster and UWI lecturer June Pamela Barbour for the post of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Honorary Consul to Jamaica.

This suggestion was made on Sunday during discussions with Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves during his visit to the University.{{more}}

In discussing their concerns, the students raised the possibility of having an honorary consul to address their needs. When asked who they would like to have representing them in an official capacity, Barbour was an obvious choice, having attended to students’ concerns over the years.

Dr. Gonsalves told the students that he will take their proposal to Cabinet to have Barbour instated as the new Honorary Consul to Jamaica.
