Cable & Wireless, an official sponsor of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, has made a donation of $1000 to the Salvation Army in an effort to help them in continuing their work to aid the less fortunate. Major Henry King accepted the cheque on behalf of the Salvation Army and expressed his gratitude Major King went on to express the necessity of such donations to the Salvation Army: âIt is only with donations of this nature from the corporate members of our community that are we able to continue in our mission. Cable & Wireless also completed its Community Outreach programme for 2006, where members of staff journeyed to various communities across the island delivering food stuff to less fortunate families. This year was the 5th year of the Community Outreach Programme. The company is currently assisting a resident of Rose Bank by helping to make necessary repairs to her dwelling place, which during the 2005 hurricane season had sustained considerable damage.
