Sailor dies in another road mishap

The local constabulary on the Northern Grenadine Island of Bequia wants to determine the cause of Eversley Cudjoe’s death. First reports are that he may have been the country’s fifth road fatality for the year.

Cudjoe, a sailor on the Caribbean Cruise Line ‘Glory’, returned home from his most recent stint Monday January 30. He was driving his jeep PH 381 from Spring, according to a release from the Police Public Relations and Complaints Department. {{more}}

Cudjoe, the lone occupant, died on the spot after the jeep ran off the road and collided with a fence. His mother Genevie Cudjoe was overcome with grief by the turn of events and she was interested in the way her son came to his end. “I don’t know how he get his death?” she queried.

A former Bequia Anglican High School student, Cudjoe took to the seas at an early age. Jonathan Ashby reported from Bequia that a passing motorist discovered Cudjoe’s body.

John Penniston, Cudjoe’s uncle described his nephew as a “hard worker and a good man.”
