In a short address, Sir Frederick said that the Taiwanese Ambassador had served this country with grace and has made significant contributions in every area of Vincentian life.

Sir Frederick noted that Ambassador Elizabeth Chu became a household name in this country and she will be remembered for going beyond her duty as ambassador.

Deputy Prime Minister Sir Louis Straker in his address said Ambassador Chu in the two and a half years that she served in this country had shown love and appreciation to Vincentians and reached out to the poor, persons in the business community, children, farmers and others.

He said she had been part of every aspect of Vincentian life and could leave with the satisfaction of knowing that she had done the best for St. Vincent and the Grenadines having surpassed all other heads of Missions in terms of her contribution to the country.

Ambassador Chu meantime said the Embassy and herself could not have done so much without the assistance of officials and friends here.

She says she will cherish the friendships and memories made here as she thanked those who supported her Embassy.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Republic of China on Taiwan have been allies for 24 years. Ambassador Chu is scheduled to leave the state on January 16th.
