World leaders congratulate PM Gonsalves

Congratulations from world leaders far and near have been presented to Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves and his administration.

Offering congratulatory remarks to the new administration were:President Chen Shui-Bian of the Republic of China on Taiwan, Frank Chang-ting Hsieh, Premier of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Dr. Tan Sun Chen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China on Taiwan.{{more}}

In his message, President Chen extended a formal invitation to Prime Minister Dr. Gonsalves and his wife Eloise to visit Taiwan at a mutually convenient time.

The president noted that he believes St. Vincent and the Grenadines will enjoy continued development, under Dr. Gonsalves’ “great leadership”.

“As a longstanding ally, friend, and partner of St.Vincent and the Grenadines, Taiwan realizes the increasing challenges that countries in the Caribbean region will encounter in the years to come.

Therefore, it is in our mutual interests to strengthen the cordial relationship and close cooperation existing between our two countries,” President Chen outlined.

Congratulations also came from Grenada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States, Ruben Silie and Cosmos Richardson, Permanent Secretary in St. Lucia’s Ministry of External Affairs, International Trade and Civil Aviation.
