Teshorne Caine’s hard work and dedication at the SEARCHLIGHT newspaper have paid off.

Last week Thursday evening, December 15, at the company’s Christmas dinner Caine was awarded the title of Employee of the Year.

While more than one employee satisfied most of the criteria considered, Caine was selected as employee of the year because she satisfied all of the criteria with flying colours, said Corletha Ollivierre, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Interactive Media Ltd, publishers of Searchlight.{{more}}

Ollivierre stated the awardee consistently maintained a professional approach to her duties and kept a cool head even under pressures of deadlines and large volumes of work.

“This person demonstrates the spirit of teamwork, self-sacrifice and commitment on a daily basis. It is not unusual for this person to stay late or come in on weekends to finish up their work or get a head start on the next week’s work,” said Ollivierre as she read the citation.

Caine was elected Employee of the Year for demonstrating qualities such as: Superior performance in the execution of her duties, Excellent Customer Service, Performance above and beyond her normal duties, Innovative improvement in her area of responsibility, and congeniality with other employees. She earned the title for her demonstration of good team spirit, being responsible for savings or increased revenue for the company, and projection of a positive image of the company to the public.

In her response, the Administrative Assistant, who has been employed with the company for six years, thanked those responsible for her selection. She added that she was not surprised to learn she had won the award as she works hard in an effort to ensure that the company achieves its goals.
